We Are a Covid Safe Practice

Your Safety

Your safety is always our number one priority and since the beginning of the pandemic we have implemented several important changes to improve our patients safety, as per the guidelines set by NSW Health and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO).

The changes employed during the acute phase of the pandemic are listed below. With the relaxation of state wide restrictions around COVID-19, many changes are no longer necessary. Items still continuing in 2023 are in bold.

For Patients Safety

All patients are

  • Screened by phone the day before attending
  • Any patients with flu-like symptoms will be asked to defer their appointment to a later date or offered a telephone consultation.
  • Asked to come by themselves, unless they need a support person (eg if elderly or from a non-English-speaking background)
  • Non permitted extra visitors are asked not to stay in the waiting room (there is a coffee shop nearby)
  • Asked to scan or take pictures of their referral/ reports/ paperwork in advance and send to the office by email
  • Asked to make cashless payments where possible
  • Complete online patient questionnaires ahead of time to minimise time in the rooms
